Alex Coronel is a versatile American contemporary artist, whose creative journey spans various mediums, including painting, installation, sculpture, illustration, animation, film, and more. Hello my birth name is Alex Coronel, I go by Alex Coronel.
I’ve been chasing that high I experienced when I made my first jungle diorama in elementary school.
I’ve been working on changing my desire for disruption into a positive desire of spontaneity. I’ve also been figuring out how to further elevate my new found love of felt in my work.
Im constantly pushing to be the best version of myself in my work. I remain open to playful times and I welcome change. My goals have always been to produce work that is me, for nothing to translate as artificial and to remain cognizant of the delicate balance between significance and lightheartedness. This has evolved into another goal of not losing communication with my audience, for my work to remain approachable.
Young artists, you’re flooded with images and influences. It’s a double edged sword. There are a lot of positives to the accessibility of art and content today, just make sure you’re the one in control of those influences you allow into your work. Take a breather every now and then. Shut it off and shut it down. Take a step back often and ask “Is this me?”
